Quiet Opulence

On Tuesday 31st January 2017, as part of the 080 Barcelona Fashion, It was the catwalk show of the Autumn-Winter 2017/18 collection ‘Quiet Opulence’ for LOA by Lidia Aguilera, inspired by Sibyl Vane from the novel “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde.

The designer has transferred the inspiration from the novel to our current century by presenting a conceptual collection that respects the Barcelona brand’s Mediterranean and ‘clean’ DNA at all times.

Romantic shapes, frills, embroidery and voluminous sleeves cohabit with oversized trousers in technic fabrics with a sporty tough. High Victorian-style necklines, tie-like fabrics, layering, oversized knitted garments. It’s a real slice of romanticism that’s been brought up-to-date in order to dress a modern woman who loves contrasts and isn’t afraid of new interpretations of femininity.

Black and white are the main colours in the collection as well as metallic stripes. There are also touches of purple and sky blue shades. The feminine essence of the collection is contrasted against the masculine-style striped shirts and footwear for men.

I would highlight in capital letters the line of ecological shirts made in Spain that have taken on the designer for the Autumn-Winter 2017/18 season. A word of warning for Internet surfers: don’t lose track of it, it will be a big hit.
